The Forsyth Central Lady Bulldogs softball team beat North Springs on Thursday 8-0 at FCHS in five innings and 19-2 in 3 innings.   The night started off with a small ceremony honoring the families, staff and faculty of Forsyth Central High School that have served in the military.  Forsyth Central’s Coach Rich Lowe threw out the first pitch.  In game one, The Lady Bulldogs scored four runs in the fifth on an RBI single by Marisa Hull, an RBI double by Alexa Hull, an RBI single by Caroline Thomas, and a sacrifice fly by Devyn Malinzak.

Lady Bulldog Lexi Bump was perfect at the dish, going 3-3. She singled in the first and second innings and tripled in the fourth inning.

Carrlyn Kiser struck out 11, paving the way for a Forsyth Central win. Kiser gave up just two hits over five shutout innings.

The Lady Bulldogs went up for good in the second, scoring three runs on an RBI double by Malinzak, a groundout by Hannah Carpenter, and an RBI single by Bump.


In game two, Nineteen runs in the first three innings allowed the Lady Bulldogs to put the game away early. A single by Meredith Black, an RBI single by Carrlyn Kiser, a bases loaded walk by Lindsay Race, a hit by pitch, an RBI single by Karah Straub, and a two-run single by Lexi Bump in the first inning and a sacrifice fly by Caroline Thomas during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Forsyth Central Bulldogs.  Straub went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for the Lady Dogs.

rainbow_editKiser shut down North Springs while she was in the circle. Kiser held North Springs hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three. Caroline Thomas got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. She allowed two runs over 1 2/3 innings. Caroline Thomas struck out four, walked three and gave up one hit. Jazmin Decker came in for the close, ending the game with a perfect inning.  The Lady Bulldogs piled on 11 more runs in the top of the third. The inning looked promising, as Bump doubled, bringing home Straub to kick things off. That was followed up by Kiser’s triple, plating Bump.

The Lady Bulldogs extend their winning streak to five games.  They have an overall record of 10-8 and a region record of 7-3.  The Lady Bulldogs are back in action Tuesday, September 23rd at home for senior night at 5:55pm.
